Critical Review:
What did the audience think?
The audience thought that overall my typo-motion was very good. It was humorous as well as visually stimulating and it was easy to follow the words on the screen. Also the words were in time with the audio and the audio was clear which meant the audience could understand everything.
What was good about the animation?
A range of things were said to be good in my animation, such as the use of the phones. The visual interpretation of the phone call, that happened in the audio, was kept through the use of the phones. At the beginning, where I used a mobile phone to show the buttons being pressed, was a really good idea as it was giving the impression that the call was being made within the animation. Then when the phone rang it gave the impression of the person picking up a phone, also where it was a different phone it showed it being a conversation between different people instead of using the same phone. Another part that people liked was where the words came out of the phone - it kept the effect of a phone call throughout the animation.
The audience also said they liked a few little effects I did, such as the ice-cold blue coloured font for the word "Chillin'." Also when, one of the few times that the word "Wazzup" was on screen. The word was travelling downwards which, when the "z's" were on screen, gave the appearance of a telephone wire.
What could be improved?
A few things were said that I should improve. I definitely need to use more colour as the majority of the typo-motion was black and white. Another thing I could have done was use more visualization with some words like "Shorty." Someone said I should have made the word smaller than the other words or just squashed it down.
What will I do in future projects?
In future projects my top priority is to use more colour to make the animation more appealing, instead of being boring with black and white. Also I will make sure I make the words more visually stimulating instead of relying on images. This will make the typo-motion more animated as well as more into the point of the project, which is to show the audio through the animation of words.
