Typo-motion Part 2 - Budweiser

After editing the Budweiser bottle I wanted to add a bit more. So I attempted to make a steam effect coming from the bottle, as if it has just been opened. To do this I used shape tweens. I made a few small shapes that could be concealed behind the bottle and then, after putting in a new keyframe, I made the shapes bigger. I then used a shape tween to get one part of the effect. The next thing I did was then use a motion preset called "Smoke." This gave the steamy effect that made it look for realistic.

The next main thing I did in my animation was the first use of "Wazzup." For this I used the vCam and some tweens to make sure that the word is still on screen whilst it is being said. So firstly I tweened the lettter "w" above the question mark. Then the letters appear one-by-one until they exceed the length of the vCam, this let me just add all the letter off screen. After the word had been written out, all I needed to do was use the vCam to tween across the word. I then tweened "Wazzup" in the opposite direction to the movement of the vCam because then I can move the word off the screen whilst giving the appearance that the vCam is still moving.

This then allowed me to have the second "Wazzup" to come into the screen. I made the word start from the bottom of the screen and tweened it so it would go off at the top. This allowed me to use an easy tween with the word and won't need to repeat what I did for the first Wazzup. Also going from bottom to top gave me space inside the vCam to add the words "What The..."

  1. Nice work Dean, it would be good to add some screenshots of your Flash timeline here to add to your comments regarding the tween effects used in making the smoke/steam effect. :)
