Typo-motion Part 2 - First Words

After completing the mini-mob design, I then went on to create another phone as well as put in the first few words in the clip.

Firstly I shall talk about the second phone. This phone was designed around the old house phones that, when rung, the phone would vibrate. I used this because there is a phone that rings so I thought making the phone animate to look like it's ringing would be a great test to see how I can do it and also because it makes a nice effect compared to leaving it motionless. To animate the phone I only used two different frames, which was the phone leaning left and right. The main animation was in the wire. The wire would have to move with the phone and seeing as it's supposed to be loose I decided to use the bone tool. This was one of my first tries at using the bone tool but I managed to make the animation work.

This is what my telephone looked like. The wire is bent due to the bone tool.

I also made a start on the first set of words that are said during the clip. I first added the word "Yo" that flies in from the left and sits next to the telephone. I then used the vCam to move the camera to an empty space of the stage, also adding a rotation so that some text is on its side. I then proceeded to have the words "Hello Shorty. What Are You Doing," to animate uniquely into the vCam. For "Hello," I did the animation frame by frame. All I did was add each letter in a different frame. Just to give the effect that the letter is being spelled. Then for the word "Shorty" I used a motion tween to bring it into the vCam. After that I then used Motion Presets for the rest of the words. I had to edit the speeds of which they came in, just to keep it in time with the speaker.

This is how it looked after everything had moved into place.
